We're helping educate the next generation of Arizona filmmaker.
We're not just a festival. Through the Phoenix Film Foundation and IFP Phoenix, we offer educational outreach programs, filmmaking seminars, continuing educational programs for adults, film programs for middle and high school students, summer camps, and even a day of films and activities specifically designed for children at the Phoenix Film Festival!
Students in Middle and High School are encouraged to participate in up to four days of exciting film related educational activities during the Phoenix Film Festival.
Students in middle and high school can hone their filmmaking skills in the summer. Through hands-on learning, students actively participate in the technical elements of digital filmmaking from pre- to post-production. At the end of the summer, each camp's film makes its big screen premiere at the Harkins 101!
This year-round film appreciation series focuses on films not usually available to the Arizona film-going public. Curated with a theme, (women filmmakers, documentaries) these series aim to increase the appreciation for the art of film.
This year-round film education program for adults takes film lovers back to school to learn about different directors through their signature film techniques as well as film composition, production techniques and the qualities of an award-worthy film.
The Phoenix Film Festival is known for the high-quality educational events that include everyone from our youngest children, through the most seasoned film professionals. All of our educational programs are sponsored by IFP Phoenix.
