We're helping educate the next generation of Arizona filmmakers.

We're not just a festival. Through the Phoenix Film Foundation and IFP Phoenix, we offer educational outreach programs, filmmaking seminars, continuing educational programs for adults, film programs for middle and high school students, summer camps, and even a day of films and activities specifically designed for children at the Phoenix Film Festival!  

YOUTH PROGRAMS

Kids' Day

Kids’ Day is a free event for children of all ages to come out and experience the Phoenix Film Festival. The whole family will get an introduction to the art of film with a series of age-appropriate, hands-on activity stations focusing on different aspects of the filmmaking process. Check back next year for more info about Kids’ Day 2026!

 

Middle / High School Workshops

Students in Middle and High School are encouraged to participate in exciting, film related educational activities during the Phoenix Film Festival. Educators are invited to bring groups of students for one or multiple days. Join us for one or multiple exciting workshops! Registration for these workshops will open in 2026 when more information is announced for the 2026 Phoenix Film Festival.

 

Film Summer Camp

Through hands-on learning, students actively participate in the technical elements of digital filmmaking from pre- to post-production. At the end of the summer, each camp's film makes its big screen premiere at the Harkins Scottsdale 101! Registration for 2025 Summer Camps is OPEN NOW! PFF Panel Discussions

Our FREE weekend educational workshops are open to the public and designed to enhance your Festival experience by bringing together filmmakers, film lovers and industry professionals. Be sure to check back when we announce the 2026 schedule for the festival!

The Phoenix Film Festival is a program under the 501(c)3 non-profit organization Phoenix Film Foundation, and is a sibling of the Phoenix Film Society, International Horror and Sci-Fi Film Festival, Peoria Film Fest, IFP/Phoenix, Arizona Student Film Festival and Phoenix Critics Circle.
